Our de Havilland Beaver, piloted by one of the world's most experienced bush pilots, Chris Anderson, flies over untouched landscapes to remote fishing spots. Depending on the location, we may walk, raft, or land directly on rivers, lakes, and ponds. Along the way, you might encounter moose, brown bears, caribou, wolves, foxes, and eagles.
Small stream fly-out fishing brings anglers back year after year. Enjoy sight fishing for rainbow trout with streamers, egg patterns, or mice, and experience the thrill of Dolly Varden and ocean-fresh silver salmon.
In guiding, local knowledge is invaluable, and our pilot - Chris Anderson embodies both expertise and familiarity. Growing up flying sea planes with his father in Bristol Bay, Anderson quickly achieved his dream of guiding and flying independently. He started from the bottom at local lodges and worked his way up to guiding and piloting.
Though Anderson is well-known in Bristol Bay, he chose 58 North for its smaller scale and innovative approach.
For Anderson, guiding is about more than just fishing; it’s about the experience and building relationships in nature. He values the flexibility that flying provides, allowing him to adapt and find the best fishing spots. “Flying in Alaska is a lifelong passion,” Anderson says. “I love bringing people to Bristol Bay and showcasing its incredible fishing opportunities.”
While our home water, the Naknek River, offers world-class fishing opportunities, there are so many other rivers and streams to see in Bristol Bay too. With our float plane, we offer our guests the opportunity to explore and experience wild fly-out fishing.
